24-hour cancellation policy
Your appointment is important and held just for you, should you find yourself needing to reschedule or cancel, at least 24-hour notice by telephone is required. A 24-hour notice period allows the clinic diary to be adjusted so that those who are on the wait list can be accommodated.
A fee to the value of the treatment missed will be charged in the event of last-minute cancellations.
Please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times but to help you, you will receive a confirmation notification at the time of booking an appointment and as a courtesy, you will receive a reminder by email and then by text.
You are always welcome to call or text 07867 622406 to double check your appointment time if you’re unsure.
Should you find that you are running a little late for whatever reason, don’t worry, a treatment is still possible. However, if more than 15 minutes has lapsed then a reschedule will be at the discretion of the practitioner. In either event a fee to the value of the treatment, at that time, will be charged.
As a matter of courtesy, you will be called 10 minutes into your treatment time to see if all is ok.
Did not attend!
It is appreciated that unavoidable events arise from time to time, however the clinic often generates a wait list and it is important that everyone can benefit from having time with the physician. If you occupy an appointment slot and do not attend, you will be charged the full value of the scheduled treatment.
Payment in advance
Where you have made a payment in advance for a single or blocked booking but have not been able to keep to the above terms your appointment will be treated as taken and a reimbursement will not be possible
Payment can be made by cash, debit card, visa or mastercard at the time of treatment. Until payment is received future appointments are made at the discretion of the practitioner.
You are required to pay for your treatment on the day of your appointment even If your treatment is being paid for by your insurance company or as part of your health care plan. A receipt will be provided upon request and following payment.
Preparing for treatment
You may wish to give some consideration to your medical history prior to our meeting as you will be asked some detailed questions, such as past operations, injuries, major illness or lifetime recurrent symptoms.
Please provide details of any past/present scans or tests that you have had or any medication that you are currently taking including pharmaceutical or herbal. This is helpful when considering your presenting condition. If you have a list of medication provided by your doctor, by all means bring this with you and with your permission, a photocopy will be taken.
What to wear
During your treatment you will want to feel as comfortable as possible, loose clothing will help achieve this, it will prevent the need to undress giving you more time on the treatment couch.
Please leave jewellery at home as this is often obstructive during your treatment as the upper extremities are commonly needled and palpated.
Please do not miss any meals on the day and a small snack a couple of hours beforehand would ensure that you get the most out of your treatment.
Acupuncture will not be given if it is suspected that an individual is under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs on the day of an appointment and a charge to the value of a treatment will be charged for time occupied.
You are advised to rest following your treatment to aid the healing process.
You will want to get the most from your appointment so do consider the timing of it. For example, if you are suffering with sleep deprivation your appointment might be better later in the day, if you looking to enhance your energy your appointment might be better in the morning.
